engine installs problems

whats up everyone? i have a 93 7 and i am trying to swap out the engine. the only problem is that i took it apart 21 months ago and i have hit a few bumps along the way.

i really only have one problem now. it is an automatic and in the power wiring harness on the left rear of the engine bay there is a big red wire with no home. it is not on a manual because ive already checked on a 94 car and on a 93 harness that was used in another swap. i have the 93 mazda shop manual with me including the wiring harness booklet. i also have access to mitchell on demand b/c i work at shop in sc, but the information is not helping. i can not find it in any diagram.

i can not find where this goes. it is about a 10 gauge wire. its big(thats what has really got me stumped). and it has a single spade connector (female end). it is not the alternator or starter ive got all the obvious stuff taken care of.

if anybody can help me it will help me regain my sanity.

I believe it is the + positive wire the connects to the positive side of the battery.

Sounds like a power cable for an aftermarket amplifier. I have no (stock) red wire in my engine bay.

I'd agree, stereo stuff or maybe an aftermarket alarm.

i was thinking it had to be aftermarket, but it appears to be pinned into a connector that leads back to the tranny. i will get a pic when i go out there today.

my engine is out of warranty that i got from mazda so i am trying to make sure that everything is right before i put power to it.
