Engine install update

3 Attachment(s)
So got my motor Monday. bolts, nuts, and gaskets from ray got here Thursday. Bolted everything up and dropped it in yesterday, I still have to do the rest of the pressure plate bolts, connect oil lines, uim + tb sensors, 3 ground points, install a turbo and see if it runs.

The sensor that is on the back of the water pump housing fell off the wire from corrosion I guess. It's the little black sensor below the green one that tells the motor when to kick the fans on. So I will be grounding that to the bracket on the coil rack, so when I turn the key on the fans should come on. I have pictures, this is only 2 days worth of work.

I did not have to screw with the power steering cooler, I only have to cut out one piece of metal to get the 3 row piping to fit. Need to order my turbo, oil feed, oil return, and t4 gasket from dee. Along with that I will need a 3.5" vband to 3" going with a R85 and last piece I believe I need is the greddy elbow.

I do have a question... what did you guys do with your horn?

Post your comments please, thank you

If anyone wants to know how much the greddy 3row weighs... its between 25-29lb's just a little heavy.

Yea thats the 3 row I got off of puffxy, just waiting on the radiator brackets to come, and gotta cut a piece of metal out so the hotside piping can fit.

Thank you hope to have it finished within a week, just waiting on the turbo, oil feed/return, t4 gasket, and my greddy elbow. This is on one of those ebay manifolds you get with your kit from the rx7 store. Held up great so far, lets see if it lasts.

Would it come with the wire I need to splice into the wire that broke?

thermoswitch wont come with any wire, if your wire broke its part of your crispy harness. And if the harness is that crispy I would replace it. I didnt and lost my motor in 500 miles due to secondary injector not firing. Its expensive to replace but much cheaper than rebuilding again in a couple months as I learned the hard way.

Yea I must agree, having the car towed to a shop today that I use to work at. Gotta have them install the bolts that go from the pressure plate to the flywheel since I cant seem to get the plate flush to the flywheel and the motor mount bolts since the stuff used to seal the pan is in the holes. I will also be having him check over my harness and the work I have done so far since I do not want any problems after its complete.
