Engine help with pics

I was wondering what you guys could tell about the engine from the pictures, such as radiator, etc. I know it is mostly stock, just trying to figure out anything else.

Thanks

radiator :scratch: you mean the stock IC? aftermarket AST and intake (as previously posted) is all i see. if you are in miami there are regular meets with a large gathering of FD's and rotary powered cars. keep your eyes glued to the SE Section

Yeah I have been to one, I am buying this car this week, will have to go after I get it to get some advice from moosejaw lol.

It's got an aluminum AST and what looks like a Greddy elbow as well. Stock ones are plastic.

That is a stock plastic elbow.

KD-93R1 Mar 29, 2011 07:51 PM

Aftermarket parts

Looks like a Pettit Racing cold air intake and AST and I think that elbow, painted silver, is plastic. Def not a Greedy anyway.

turbojeff Mar 29, 2011 07:55 PM

Pics aren't so hot, the first one is too close up.

Stock plastic intake elbow.

Battery tie down missing. Easy fix you can get the j hooks and tie down bar at any parts store. Make SURE you trim the j-hooks before you close the hood or they will go right through it.

Yeah the Greddy ones say Greddy on them I believe whereas that one just looks polished. I think your right, but who paints a plastic pipe to look like polished aluminum??

turboIIrotary Mar 29, 2011 07:57 PM

Some years the elbow came in silver.

rx7rcer09 Mar 29, 2011 08:15 PM

i see an intake and AST, as for the intake elbow that is painted, the stock 93 is a darker grey color. and usually with time will be very dirty.

CrispyRX7 Mar 29, 2011 08:23 PM

To summarize:

Stock elbow. Stock elbows can be painted black or silver. Looks like the elbow, TB , and UIM have all been painted silver for that matter.
That's a stock IC BTW
Pettit AST
Pettit cold air intake kit. (at least the hole in the IC duct has been covered)
Unfiltered airpump intake.
Missing battery tie down
Stock intake sping type hose clamps have been replaced with screw/worm gear clamps

Regards,
Crispy

PS and it's GReddy NOT greedy. :)

KD-93R1 Mar 29, 2011 08:29 PM

Yeah, I seen that but it was to late for me to edit spelling. Thanks for bustin me out on that though:blush:

limepro Mar 29, 2011 08:37 PM

The elbow has a dent in it, I assumed it was metal, should have touched it lol.

KD-93R1 Mar 29, 2011 08:44 PM

Get it !

Dude, if that car runs I'd buy it. The more stock it is the better really. Now you can do it how you want. Youll love that car if you liked those others I guarantee.

I hope it all works out.

Actually, if you want it you better get it now before someone else gets it. Especially after seeing it on here.

zeroG Mar 29, 2011 08:45 PM

I'm guessing the black car didn't check out?

I put a deposit on the car already and going back to pick it up in a few days. I decided not to go for the black car, it had been passed around because problems, I didn't want to be next.

That's cool, well welcome to the club, be sure to post a full set of pics when you pick it up. And get that thing ready for the next time we get together somewhere. VJ's gonna be jealous that he's not the only silver FD in south.fla anymore, lol

limepro Mar 29, 2011 09:34 PM

This one needs a paint job and a new drivers door handle.

That's the worst decision anyone could make in rotary history...
