Engine Dying - Stumped
When starting it cold, since that's the extent of my testing, it jumps right on, shoots up to about 2k rpm, then just straight up dies. no stumpling or anything, just stops. it will do that again and again. But if right after it starts I tap the gas a few times and sort of stabilize it, it will calmy sit at 1k for a minute then idle just fine once it's warmed up. just srot of started doin it out of nowhere. anything?

Check the tps connection, mine used to stall on startup if i didnt keep the rpms up to like 2k for 20 sec or so.

you have a vacuum leak.
|
not possible..i fixed every vac leak, i sprayed carb cleaner EVERYwhere and notthin happens. i'll check TPS though, and double check for vac leak i suppose
|
ok since you've fixed ALL the vacuum leaks, #2 is check your H2O sensor.

You need a V8, and a glass of veggy juice.

I agree, check the TPS first, then your throttle cable. Do NOT check your 'water' sensor, or o2 sensor. |
didnt think so, the water sensor does do slight fuel correction but at default wouldnt cause settings so dramatic as to let the car stumble. i sold my damn multimeter when i thought i'd never need it again...boo

Actually when I first bought my car it had a bad coolant sensor, almost the same symptoms.....
|
that is so odd, but i wont put it past this car...for gods sake im surprised a burnt out brake light doesnt make the car stall...
