Engine Clicking!!!

Well I have searched and found info on arcing spark plug wires to injectors clicking on/off. and none fits so here It is. When I cold start the engine it barely starts makes a clicking noise. The noise speeds up and slows down with engine RPM and when I rev the engine to around 3000-3500rpm it goes away completely. I am not sure they are related but when the sound started it also started running extrmely rich and flooding if it idles and I shut her off. the is driving me crazy and if anyone has any ideas of whats wrong it would be a great help. I just hope I am not hurting my engine.

do you have 1600 cc secondary injectors? If so, it sounds like you have your primary and secondary injector wiring switched. I did this after i did my complete single turbo conversion, and it was a absolute bitch to get started. When i did get it started, it made a loud clicking noise and did the exact same thing as yours. Im sure it would do the same thing with any larger aftermarket injectors.

so can having your injectors wiring around the wrong way cause clicking? cos I did some work on my non-seq setup and unplugged them for a bit, ever since plugging them in its been clicking with the same behavioural problems as

what i wanna know is - is it ok for you to go changing plugs around to find the right combo to stop the clicking noise, what is the impact on the engine?

no everything is stock and I have never touched those plugs.

hmm, dont know then. While running, every rotary engine i have had in my car has made a lower clicking noise. The clicking may not be related to the problem with the bad starting

Its not so much that having the wires mixed up does it, its the fact that the larger injectors make much more noise. You just dont hear it when the secondarys come on because the noise is drowned out by the sound of the motor.

If your injectors are mixed around, I highly suggest you get them figured out so you dont risk blowing the motor. Although, if your running the bigger injectors as your primary, chances are the car is getting much more fuel then it should.

I had "clicking" during idle...and under steady idle. It was due to the oil injectors pushing the housing and clicking on the apex seal as it turned. This is very bad and caused my seal to break during idle on a brand new motor. Apparently, the bolt to the oil injector was installed without the OMP line banjo...busted the seal and scored the housing.

when you say oil injectors do you mean the ones that the metered oil lines go too?
