Engine checklight

I recently had a little incident that wasn't really major. Just a popped-off boost sensor hose. Couldn't catch it since it was dark when it happened so I check it out a few days later during the day and plugged it back in. Didn't drive the car until later this nite and only about 30 min after driving and a short little sprint with a modded z28 the check engine light comes on. What gives? Brought her home, let her cool down and checked the fluids/oil and saw nothing out of the ordinary. Car sounded normal, no weird or strange sounds. Recent oil change. I know the car needs it's 60k service since its at about 59k. I also know I need to replace my egr valve. I'm thinking it's the egr vavle but it's needed to be replaced for a few than hundred miles now and it has never given me the light. Anyone have any ideas? I just want to have a minor idea as what it may be. I'll be taking the car to get checked out in a few weeks and won't be driving it meanwhile. Just want to have a heads up. BTW, could damage have occured to the engine while runnning the car for a few minutes with the boost sensor hose off? Thanks.

You could pull the engine codes to see what you are getting...

As far as running the car without the MAP sensor hose connected, it can foul the spark plugs if it's driven too much, but that should be about it.

How do I do that? I don't think I have the tools to pull them. I know the shop I will be taking it to will do that for me.

Never done it, but doesn't sound that difficult.

Thanks LAracer, it turned out simply the EGR valve. But, a new problem has risen.
