Engine brace

Do you guys thinks its worth it? Sometimes when im racing around, and i try to quickshift into 3rd i miss and hit 5th!! Pisses me off. Ive heard that an engine brace helps. I need to just practice and get used to it.

Don't get so excited when you are shifting. Calm down, and don't push as hard. Push straight up into 3rd, whereas away from you into 5th. Don't worry, you'll never be able to jam it back into 1st.

Yes its worth it to answer the question. If your not running hard look at your engine at idle and see if its rocking back and forth, might be time for some engine mounts, but if you like to run sometimes hard then it does help those 2 to 3rd shifts

to me, i dont think so, maybe if you do alot of city driving cause when i didnt have mine, i occasionally put it to 5th instead of 3rd but that problem completely went away with the etb..

now if you're constantly racing, accidently putting it 1st will never happen like said above and putting it in 5th wont happen, just push upward and it will go to 3rd in its own, dont worry about 1st or 5th..

cool...gotta practice on mustangs and other cars. I have this dude who wants to race me, we has a mustang GT with just a catback. This will be a joke :) I will try and get the camcorder to post a vid of me stompin his ass. Whats with people who just get mustangs that think their fast?

iceman4357----Let me touch on this again. The reason the ETB is so popular is if you a boosting up high and really going at it in a drag 3rd is no longer straight up I think anyone will tell you that, except for what you just heard here. The engine torque, along with the tranny making 3rd a little bit over then normal so you cant just shift straight up unless you granny shift or you have been doing it for a long time and you can nail it into 3rd while your boosting and high reving.

Yes practice is good too, but IMHO the torque brace prevents excess wear on motor mounts.

An aftermarket shifter such as the gotham racing short shifter will smooth out shifting...I used to miss third often but since I got that shifter it slams right in every time. I bought the torq brace but haven't put it on but supposed to make shifting even better. We'll see :)

Sure if your shifter is worn that wouldnt help shifting, also worn engine mounts wouldnt help either.

engine torque brace worked like a charm for me. Shifting was smoother, more solid. Just made my short shifter better and third a no brainer/no worry about fifth.

you should also think about getting rear diff brace and tranny brace
