I tried to keep the nuts and bolts within each respective parts in zip lock bags. I then weighed it on the scale. I haven't weighed the engine bolts 'cause they're still soaking in solvent. Maybe when I clean them I'll weigh it for you guys. It'll weight a lot since there are 18 of them.

Bump for a good thread. Total engine weight, including two engine mounts, would be at least 311 lbs (not including the PFS intercooler listed here). chillin_rx7_guy didn't list weights for the A/C and Power Steering assemblies, he probably removed his. Assuming they weigh 13 lbs each, total engine weight would be at least 337 lbs.

This company: http://www.freedom-motors.com/ makes all-aluminum rotary engines, claiming 150hp from a naturally aspirated 1300cc motor that weighs only 120lbs. Does anyone know the weight of the Renesis motor?

Take note people, this is how you match Jim Labreck's post count. :bigthumb:

This is interesting info, nonetheless.

Thanks for this! :)
Kudos!

Awesome job on weighing all this stuff and posting the pictures to avoid any confusion. :whatever-the-code-for-big-thumbs-up-is: :D

The item labeled power steering pulley is really the main eccentric pulley. I would be surprised if the ultra-light stock PS pulley even weighed 5 oz.

I didn't even notice people actually looked at this thread. Wow! I was searching for something else and found mine! LOL

Hope this does help people though. All the parts that around 1lbs. wouldn't be very accurate 'cause the scale is meant for heavier objects but it's a rough estimate.

Cheers!
