Eng swap cmplete, trouble shooting Overheating, accelerator cable,
 

I am finally done with my engine swap, and I started my car last night at 1:00 am. The car started and ran strong however I have some problems, this is the biggest project I have taken on on my rx7 so here are my issues

Jspec 96 engine and turbos
Started the car and let it run for 4 to 5 minutes
Car holds high iddle, does not seam to have a vacuum leak
Smoke coming from the turbo side. not sure if it is exhaust or coolant
Car is very loud and I seam to hear some screeching (does not sound good, I am hoping it might just be fluids on the belts or the belts are too tight)

1: I put 2 gallons of premix 50/50 coolant in there and I am still overheating, I have a fluidine radiator, I am not sure if I need more coolant or if I have a stuck thermostat, any idea how much coolant I should be needing

2. I think I have the accelerator cable connected incorrectly on the peddle, see attached pics

3. Here is the kicker, this is the dumbest thing that happened on the rebuild. Brake fluid was poured into the power steering reservoir. I drained it out blew out as much as I could ,
unplugged both ends and blew out with compressor, pulled out as much as I could , about 2 to 3 ounces of brake fluid could not be removed and I filled up with power steering fluid ( I am hoping this is not a big issue now :(.
I once had a Lexus which had a broken hose for the power steering , got some water and gook in there over many weeks and then I fixed the hose and everything seamed OK after wards


4; Now this car was originally an automatic and I swapped it to a manual many moons ago with lotsa help. Anyway, I have an extra black plug around the ecu computer area and I am thinking this must be for the automatic, I have included a pic of this as well, Just need to confirm, thanks.

5. Not to mention my clutch peddle just falls to the floor,(guess I have to bleed that )

Very close from getting my Rx7 alive after 3.5 years of it being dead

All problems resolved,

The cable was fixed
The overheating, really was not overheating, had some fluid left on the manifold
The clutch issue was addressed in another thread I posted.

Hopefully tomorrow I drive
