emissions

should a fully functional FD with a downpipe as the only mod pass emissions?
when i go to test it would it be better if the car was fully warmed up? so as to not get the high cold start idle?
also is white smoke on start up an indication of running rich?

this question has been asked a million times, please search next time...

to answer your questions tho.. yes a little white smoke is normal, no that dosent mean your running rich

the hotter the cat the better when your taking hte emmissions test so run the highway or whatever you can before the test

lastly i passed emissions with a catless exhaust (tuned my haltech to do so) so anything is possible... it really varies car to car tho, so just go and try

the white smoke is usually condensation. With a DP you should be fine.

I recently had to smog my 93 and it didnt pass. I took it 2 the dealer and had it checked out. They said my cat "was not setting off". I thought they were smoking crack. I had just put the stock exhaust back on and checked the cats and they looked fine. Apparently the cat wasnt getting hot enough. I put another used one on and it passed no prob. I would get it nice and warm 1st.
