electrical question?
 

Im working on leaning my car out with my haltech (on my friends tailpipe sniffer) to try to get my car past emissions. I have the stock cat in place, but as im sure everyone knows the haltech dosent control the smog pump.

So my question: Is the smog pump run off just a 12v off/ on switch, because if so i should be able to just wire it up to my battery and make it run to pass emmisions right?

I think so , try and see . Hope you pass then lets go for a ride, just turn on the radio .

The smog pump is run off the belt using an electro-magnetic clutch. So, I would guess that your solution would work.

When my alternator started dying, my air pump wouldn't engage because the battery couldn't supply enough juice by itself. Just something to keep in mind.
