electrical issues with my 5speed swap
 
i had a 1994 rx7 automatic. i then converted it to a 5 speed using the information found in the 3rd gen archives .thanks and props to those that keep this info alive.the car has been through alot. lets see i bought it about 5 years ago , it was completely stock not running very well. i replaced all vacum lines which allowed it to run.:) then i bought a power fc, :)apexi cold air intake,:)down pipe :),mid pipe,:)pettit cool charge innercooler, :):)bnr super twins. a couple of months after these mods i lost traction on the way to work,slid off the road,hit a culvert,and flipped my ride.:(it took me about three years but i replaced the dr . door ,hood, roof,both fenders,rt side fire wall,rt side front suspension.i set the car on a frme machine so it would stay straight then took it apart at the welds and put it back to gether at the welds.all the measurements added up and the lines are straight.amazing cause im not a body man but i can read a tape maesure:).i still need some lights(im going to get the composit lights),paint,rt side mirror, motor cradle( the one i have is bent,the tire sits back three quarters of an inch thanks to my lack of driving ability. i do have a lot of time and money invested in my car plus a lot more respect for it also.after i got it driving again the auto trans started to go out:(soo i thought why not a 5 speed ,cant be that difficult right. well it is in and it runs pretty well other than a few minor problems. here is my delimas, can any one help me out or point me to a pertinant thread in the archive???dealing with my swap my trip odmiter resets everytime i shut the car off,2nd the engine idles at 2500rpms but drops to about 1800 when i turn the lights on . my tps ground is good, ihave a brown and black stripped wire that constantly reads .02 . this may have been a wire i had to slice for the swap maybe? i did use a manual engine harness and connected it to the auto harness under the dash using the connecters where i could, and soldered wires that needed to be spliced.
