Electric Senoid cauing Boost Problem??
What is a sticky valve means??
Is it the Electric Senoid under the pressure chamber... Because the car will boost perfectly when cold, but when the engine and turbos starts to get heat soaked in (HOT) it'll starts to boost improperly. Running 10-5-8 or 10-6-7 and then on third gear it'll slowly rises back to 10 on the secondarly turbos. Need Help??? |
"sticky valve" - i think refers to the turbo control solenoid that intermittently does not work. i've heard some people also say that it could be a crack in the crossover pipe between the turbo and intercooler. once the plastic heats up, the crack grows. yet while cold, it boosts fine. not sure though. these issues are hard to diagnose...
good luck. |
is that two turbo control solenoid under the pressure chamber??
thanks |
Here's a picture of the two selnoid. These are the two turbo control solenoid that's underneath the pressure chamber correct??

The dual plugged solenoid that sits behind the tank is the Wastegate/Pre-Control solenoid. Usually when that solenoid quits working properly, your boost will stay below 7psi after secondary transition (pre-control side). If the Wastegate solenoid side is not working, the primary turbo boost will be minimal as well.

thanks areXseven and alberto_mg for the info.,
So it is those two solenoid correct? So when it's started to get really hot (Heat Soaked In) then it will have that boost problem result of those two solenoid correct?? |
I think that typically, the turbo control solenoid that stops working when the car gets hot, is the TCS for vacuum. That solenoid is under the upper intake manifold, bolted to the air control valve.

That was solved when I switched the elec. connections on the W/P-C soleniod. |
can you tell me what this means W/P-C soleniod??
thanks |
He means the wastegate and precontrol solenoids, the ones in your picture.
|
thanks guys,
just wanted to confirm that, those are the solenoid before I went ahead and change them. I'll get back to all ya to see whether that was the problem or not. |
