Either a Broken Tie Rod or Un-even tire pressure

Hello,

I was just wondering if any one has expereinced the following problem.
When i am driving my steering wheel is not perfectly centred when I am going straight.. It is slightly positioned to the right. THe car does not pull, it just feels like when i turn to the right, the steering is not as tight as when i turn the car to the left.. Also with that being said, when i try and straighten the wheel to a perfectly straight position the car does start to steer to the left.

I did smack a curb a week ago.

Got both front tires replaced, due to a broken radial in the front right...I did not have this problem before the tires were changed.

So what im asking is....
Could the croocked steering be caused by a bent/broken tie rod or does this sound like more of un-even tire pressure problem?

Also is there any way to visually check to see if a tie rod is bent ? and does anyone have any picstures as to exactly the location of the front right tie rod?

It sounds like you bent something in the front suspension. It could be the tie rod, or something else. You should have a knowledgeable suspension / alignment specialist check it. Sometimes you can spot a bent or damaged part visually. Other times the damage is more subtle, but still serious. It can cause premature tire wear, or handling problems like you're experiencing. A loose tie rod end can also be dangerous. In rare cases, you could lose control of the steering.

Not to complicate things, but there are rare cases in which a tire can have a radial pull. Switching tires would tell you if this is the problem.

But it sounds like you have front end damage. You could jack up the front end, grab hold of the tire on each side and move it back and forth. If you feel excessive free play or hear a loud clunking, you'll know something has come seriously loose.
In any event, you should have a front end guy look at it.
