EGI Relay Part#?

Hey yall..
So I've noticed from time to time my FD likes to have a no-start condition.
The problem seems to be the EGI relay. I'll remove it, tap it a little on the strut tower, re-install, then she clicks and the engine starts.

Has anyone experienced that before? Maybe it's not really the relay but a grounding issue?

What would be the correct PN for the EGI relay? Is it: JE16-18-811
I'll pull the one off of the car later and have a look, but figured I'd consult the hive-mind.

Thanks!

Never heard of it. Other normal problems occur with the clutch start switch, alarm start relay, or the ignition switch.

Even with all new parts my ignition switch has to be hit twice sometimes to get a reaction..

JE16-18-811A is the right part number, it should have a JE16 stamped on it too

Does the motor crank over but not start, or does it not crank over at all?

The EGI relay gives power to the ECU. If it's bad, the motor in theory would crank over (starter motor turning the motor) but the engine wouldn't fire with the ECU not getting any power.

If it doesn't crank, then it's the starting system. There's a giant thread on the click-click-start problem.

Hey Dale,
The engine cranks, but it would not start.
You can audibly hear when you turn the key to the ON position whether or not the relay engages.
If you hear the click, boom no problem and it'll start right up.
No click, you have to remove the relay and give it the ol' tappy-tap-tap... Put back in, starts up.

I think I'll replace the relay and see if that solves my problem.
