Enfini Emblems

I checked the search thread... couldn't find anything.

I'd like to know is there anything attached to the back of the stock emblems that I should be aware of to take them off. I'd like to replace them with Enfini emblems.

Thanks for you help.

spoolin93r1 02-06-04 06:26 PM

might try "efini" instead. there's a little bit of adhesive backing on the emblems. just pull em off, use some goo-gone or sumthing similar, and stick the new ones on

X-Ped 02-06-04 06:33 PM

Yes on the stock toilet bowl emblems the front has 2 pins and on the back there is 3. Heres what i did to get em off. First with a hair dryer warm up the emblems so the adhesive backing gets soft then slide some floss strings behine the emblem and try to pull em out.

Thanks for the info guys. I'll give it a try tomorrow. Sorry about the spelling :-)

One more question... any recommendations for what type of double side tape to use (3M, etc.)?

spoolin93r1 02-06-04 11:13 PM

the new emblems should come with adhesive already on them. if not, use 3m for sure

93silverbullet 02-06-04 11:14 PM

Thanks spoolin93r1!

3M molding trim tape. It works great.

I have effini emblems on when I bought my FD

It was ripped right off the following week at wal mart.

Some paint chipped off.. But I will be getting a new paint job too.

If the stock emblems have never been off there should be a push clip on each post. On mine it was impossible to get them off with floss without removing the clips from behind first. Had to unbolt the top of the rear bumper to get the rear center emblem off. Looks nicer if you put them back on with just the clips - they sit flush with the bumper instead of sticking off. Plus much harder to steal

dubulup 02-09-04 08:50 AM

I have no tape on mine and no problems with the flying off...or getting stolem...knock on wood.

Quickfini 02-09-04 10:27 AM

Yeah I used the 3m double sided foam tape and it's been on for a good 3 years so far with nothing happening. :)

Thanks guys for all the replys. I appreciate your help on this.

I have a spare efini emblem if your interested. I bought 2 but decided to go with no emblem in the front

93silverbullet 02-09-04 02:40 PM

Widebody2 - Thanks for the offer, I already have the emblems.

.....semi-off subject, but does anyone know if Efini has any meaning in english? I'm looking at getting a RHD FD with stock efini badges and steeringwheel..... just curious as to what it meant....

pugg57 02-09-04 02:50 PM

i hate to be an ASS, but it seems like everyone in the forum is dead set against any form of ricing... so... isn't rebadging an FD as an EFINI just the same as rebadging an ACURA integra as a HONDA? i'm just not sure why the hypocracy here... personally, i'm not really for or against it either way, its not my car, why would i care? just being the obligatory cynic

Gouki7 02-09-04 02:54 PM

The word Enfini it's kinda like inifinity but "japanese-ified"that's why the symbol looks like an infinity symbol. the 2nd gens look more like an inifinity symbol

highspeeddubbin 02-09-04 03:02 PM

anyone know a good place to order these from

There are a lot of hypocritical asses on this forum. I guess I'm just used to it now.

widebody2,
Which emlem is it? Front or Rear? What color is it?
If it's silver, I'll take it.

Not really. The Efini was the name/model of the FD in Japan from 92 for a few years.
Same car (except RHD, and emissions).

Whereas an Acura was more of an upmodel Honda with a different interior. Different model line/car.

Would it be ricing to swap out an old "toilet bowl" emblem for the newer "flying M"?

poss 02-11-04 07:21 PM

But Acura isn't a brand name in Japan. Everything is Honda. Unless things have changed.... :)

luizajeff 02-11-04 11:49 PM

Ricing or not, the old Mazda symbol just looks bad! Either the Efini or the new Mazda symbol just looks better. I like the new Mazda symbol myself because my car isn't an Efini model.

I used this emblume glue type thing i got at like a pep boys. Just apply some on the back and stick it on. It's held up pretty good so far.
