ECU upgrades / S-AFC....

Hey guys, i was just wondering instead of getting an ecu upgrade, can i get like the apexi fuel stuff.. like the s-afc etc.. i was talking to a friend of mine, and he said instead of getting generic ecu's, i should just get the s-afc and some other apexi acessories to manage my fuel.. can someone explain to me this area.. i'm kinda shady on it.. thanks.. any help would be great..

I believe that the only thing that the S-AFC will do is richen or lean your fuel mixture. You'll still have the 12psi boost cut. So I'd say that going this route instead of a dedicated CPU would be tempting fate. Although it may be adequate with an intake, downpipe and catback, anything more or running any more boost and you'd be cursing yourself that you didn't get a computer that does it all. Plus at close to $300 you can probably get a used puter for only a couple of hundred dollars more from thepartstrader.com

F2 is right. With the stock ECU you will still have a fuel cut. If you buy AFC and an AVC-R you are looking anywhere from 800-1200 depending on prices you get. If you buy an HKS FCD which eliminates the fuel cut that is another 100-200 bucks.

At this point you have nothing that can adjust your timing and still have the fuel cut.

Save your money and get a Power FC. Right now it is the best for the money.
