EBC Green brake pads???
I need some brake pads and have decided that I will get the EBC Green pads for my RX-7 instead of the Hawk HPS pads. I rather spend the money now on a better product. Also, my car will be used on the track and street. It's a daily driven car.
- I need to know if the EBC Green pads make any annoying noises while the brakes are being used? - Do they cause a lot of brake dust that will get on the rims? - Also, where can I purchase these pads? Thanks for all your help from my last thread. |

I am running EBC Green - The do dust but less than the the HPS (I used to run) I got mine from Brake Parts Warehouse ( www.brakeco.com ) the have good feel and On my car are very quiet. - Noisy brakes can also indicate problems with the Calipers. Get a new set of Shims when you change the pads - MAZDAFORMANCE had the OEM front set on special a couple weeks ago.

Capt Bill,
Just dial Doug Livingston direct, no area needed...289-7221 ML |
I got mine from TireRack. So far I like them-I'm missing some of the anti-chatter springs in the rear calipers but haven't really noticed so far.
I used my old shims-pried the inner one off the old brake pad with a screwdriver...will this be a problem? |
MastaCow:
Should be OK - My orig. Shims were rusted and stuck to my pads and kinda folded in half when I tried to remove them. I just find the few $$ for the new shims worth it to avoid the hassle of cleaning up the old ones |
Anyone that has the green stuff, have you experienced any problems from braking at high speeds (say from 100mph down to 30mph). I often do that, well more than often, so I'm wondering if the red stuff would be better if you like to brake from higher speeds often.
