e85 question

I just converted my car to run e85, its a single turbo car with a million miles on the motor that was build 11 years ago. I know, its time is soon.

Anyways, I installed a new walbro 525 pump, new fuel lines, filter, fittings, radium fuel rails and id1050x primary and 1750x secondaries.

The car started and idled on pump gar without an issue, even with the bigger injectors (stock size was in it before) and no changes to the old tun other then cc size the car idles and drove around the block decently. I could get it idling around 850rpm fine, it would hold an idle down near 650 but it sounded rough and there was no reason to let it idle that low.

So I thought I could add e85, adjust the fuel multiplier on power fc, and maybe make some adjustments to the idle screws and be in the same boat but it feels way different, Its still idling a little lean with 30% more fuel, I am going to add more fuel tomorrow and try again, but the idle doesnt like to be anywhere near or below 1100rpm, and it sounds lopey, which is funny because e85 makes my V8 ctsv idle very smooth. Maybe the slow burning fuel makes the rotary more lopey.

But really what I am after is some advice for rpm range and afr on e85 on these cars. back 11 years when the car was built it was ported, but I dont know what port. I have the 9 heat range plugs in all 4 holes, and brand new magnacore wires. This is really just a whole project of learning, I know the motor is on its last legs (compression was 85-96 on the rear rotar and 94-106 on the front)

I didnt know what forum to place this in because its kind of tuning, hardware, and some general information. One other thing to add, I dont have datalogic. the guy whos going to tune the car does but I am just trying to get a stable idle and check for any oddities before we strap it on the dino. All my fuel adjustments are with the commander so I know my injector delay times arent set yet or any other perimeters that need to be done through datalogic.

You probably won't be able to get the car to run and idle right with just the commander. You're going to need a datalogit to get things set up properly. Also you may need to adjust other settings with the new injectors in the datalogit as well.

30% may not be enough.

we switched a miata over to E85, because race car, and on that engine, which may be a bad example, there was a 2hp difference between 10:1 afr and 14:1 afr, it was so insensitive to mixture, it was harder to tune.
