Droning Question??
 

I been doing research on MIDPIPES, because
thats the next mod I am planning after
I get my PFC (national backorder).

Anyways.. I heard al the pros and cons
of midpipes. and one of the CONS is a
Droning effect..

What is DRONING??
can someone explain waht that is??
I know its SOUND, but what about it???

Droning is exactly that, a droning sound, one that eats into your brain when you are on the highway, and makes you want to shoot yourself to end the misery.

It sounds like you have a bagpipe shoved into the exhaust system, (but a few octaves lower). It is a constant resonating noise that somehow makes itself known at highway speeds. There is the usual car noises, tire noise, engine noise, but the exhaust note is very prominent, not loud, but annoying.

Get a resonated MP or weld in a resonator, and it will be much much better. I had a MP and the droning drove me crazy (as well my neighbors did not like the noise the car made when i went to work at 6 am :() so I got a Borla XR-1 Sportmans (3 inch inlet/outlet 16 inch length) and got it welded in. Much better no. Still crazy loud at WOT, but idle is much quieter, and no more droning at highway speeds.
