Drift FD uses XS Power Intercooler?!?

Well it looks like the XS Power one at least. This is obviously not in the USA..so I'm guessing they found the part online and got it. you can see some form of writing on the intercooler when they zoom in with the first video. Which is what led me to believe its the XS w/ different piping. But who knows. Just a find while at work. |

There's no duct, so no airflow, so the intercooler isn't doing anything, he might as well just connect a straight tube in its place. : ) I don't know if that's what normal drifting is like but it doesn't look like it requires any power as he's almost never at full throttle based on sound.
My only information is back in the early 2000's when the Chinese (makers of XS) first started trying to make cheap knock offs of the ASP IC's. I bought one to see what it was all about and honestly it was just what you'd expect from China. The welds were crap, burning into the fins and it wasn't made out of normal aluminum, it was some mixed slag material that actually started to rust in areas. The older I get the more I realize it's true, you get what you pay for. |
