Downpipe + High Flo Cat = Problems? Or is it ok?
Wondering with a FD with a downpipe and legal high flo cat will this cause any boost creeps or any dangers? Just curious because the FD I bought has these parts installed already.
Also for reliablity mods am I going in the right direction with this list? New Fuel Filter New Thermostat Redline Gear Oil Redline Diff. Oil Aluminum AST Flush Coolant Silicone Vacuum Hose Kit With those reliabilty mods will I have a nice healthy FD? Also going to pre-mix Redline 2stroke Racing Oil every fill up 4oz to fill up. Just very concerned and need some ease from fellow FD owners. |
In general the 3-mod rule is in effect. i.e. you can have 3 flow mods (downpipe, high-flow cat, cat-back, or intake) before you need either an ecu or a boost controller, or both. But every car is different. That list looks ok to me, but I'd add a boost gauge as the very first thing. Otherwise, you're on a good path.

It's possible that you might begin to hit fuel cut but I ran those mods on the stock ECU for quite a while without any problems. |
forgot to meantion I do have a boost gauge my bad =] have it laying on my counter ready to be put in
|
Also thats basically what I will be doing to my car, no major mods just basically want it running smooth stock, its fast enough for me stock, after that it will go into suspension, exterior looks, rims and etc. But for the engine thats it. Just maintain and ride -=]
