Which downpipe?
I am looking to buy a downpipe, most likely stainless. Which would be the best for the following conditions?
-Live in Michigan (high corrosion potential) -Not racing, except for the few worthy opponents -Daily driven, but not in bad conditions -Bolts up fairly easily -Want better MPG |
i say M2. Just cuz I have one, wasn't hard to bolt on, and it doesn't give me any issues. But for the most part, i think a downpipe is a downpipe.

do a search on this forum, there are quite a few threads going around on this one.
just realize that most of the opinions are biased towards whatever the opinionholder purchased. IMO, a DP is basically a DP. i also haven't heard about a non-stainless DP ever rusting through - may save you a couple bucks M |
M2 all the way
A downpipe is not a down pipe. I have installed literally dozens of them of several makes. The HKS fits like stock but doesn't flow as well as other pipes. A majority of other downpipes require removal of studs to fit in and are harder to install on automatic equipped cars. By far the only pipe I have installed with no problems is the M2 Downpipe. On top of the good fitment the quality of the welds and flanges are unsurpassed. Money well spent.

What about the Bonez Down pipe? This DP is the most convenient one for me to get. Does anyone know how it flows compared to the M2 Downpipe? Please post or E-mail me with any comments.

Kevin (KEMRX7@aol.com) since you want corrosion resistance, get stanless steel. the top three SS downpipes are M2, Pettit, and Bonez. since they are all the same price, get the one that is easiest to install: M2. |
Thanks all. I just ordered the M2.

Kevin (KEMRX7@aol.com) you will have to use an open ended wrench to get to one of the nuts b/c a socket wont fit there. overall i thought it was very easy.....i dont see what all the complaining is about.... |
