Doug nash 4+1 in fd
 

I have a doug nash 4+1 trans. I know the trans can take a lot of power buf does anybody know the streetabilty of the unit?. It is faceplated and I got the h pattern shifter. Im thinking about just using this instead of sending my fd trans to liberty. What you guys think

Easy solution....

Is it more effective to retrofit a different transmission into the FD, or build the OEM?

Power goals? Purpose of the car?

I would select using the OEM, as they are pretty strong. With some aftermarket attention, they can do quite well. Of course depending on what you are using the car for makes all the difference. Banzai Racing's 650whp 20B FD uses an OEM tranny with no issues.... But again, I'm sure they aren't launching it with slicks.
