don't hate me
I've searched and looked through what i thought i should (suggested websites, faq's,archives) but still having problems finding info on base model compared to other models. I find plenty on r1 vs. r2 pep etc. but difficult to find info on the base compared to other models. Please someone assist w/out bashing me. :wallbash: Maybe I'm not searching the correct word but i did spend time doing research. Thanks to whoever helps me out.

Touring=Cruisecontroll, sunroof, softer springs, leather.windowwasher on the back window.2+2seats,1 oil cooler R1= stiffer springs, ligther then touring, and other clothing on chair.2+2 seats,Dual oilcoolers. R2= The same as R1 but with not so stiff dampers and only 2 seats |
So base= no power anything? Possible to install cruise off another model? Include bose system? Disc brakes at all corners? Thanks I appreciate it.

What makes it hard to differentiate is that a lot of the things the came on touring models could be bought individually as options on base models.
A bare bones base model has cloth seats, no bose, no rear wiper, no r1 lip or wing, no sunroof, All FD RX-7s have four-wheel disc brakes with ABS. |
Does at bare bones 93 have power anything in the interior?
|
I think all FDs will have power windows and mirrors.

all rx7's are the same except those few things i mention "so the same power and brakes". But the Europe,USA,Japan marked got some different to power. |
I live in Canada and when I was researching the Base model RX-7 it was a little confusing because 99% of the info was from the US. What I found out was here in Canada the Base Model comes with Cruise Control and the Base is available in Competition Yellow Mica. I think there are also a couple of other differences but they didn’t apply to the car I bought so I don’t remember them. LOL

Im also from canada, and my base came with cruise control and a r1 wing.

cheap look :) Is that better :dunno: |
I would prefer the cloth seats over the leather I currently have. Cloth grips better and Mazda's upholstery technology of the late 80s and early 90s was just totally awesome. My '89 MX-6 GT interior is all original and has 270k miles on it; there's not a tear or missing stitch to be found, and this is the case with every other similar Mazda I've seen...Even in junk yards I've never seen a torn side bolster or ripped seat, whereas when you look at all the Toyotas and Hondas from the same era, they all have torn side bolsters and other interior problems that you just don't see on the Mazdas.

Thanks for all the info much appreciated.

I own a 1994 Base model.
Here is what it has: 255hp twin-turbo motor (standard on all 1993-1995) Power windows (standard on all 1993-1995) Power mirrors (standard on all 1993-1995) Power antenna (standard on all 1993-1995) Passenger air bag (standard on all 1994-1995) Exhaust Gas Recirculation (EGR) Valve (standard on all 1993-1994 models, deleted in 1995 model) Cruise control.
