Braille Batteries are quite small and lightweight
http://www.braillebattery.com/index....teries/b2015/#
I had just recently read somewhere that these batteries are actually made by Deka Batteries and are just repackaged, rebranded, and the price is jacked up. However I couldn't find any similar batteries on the Deka website... anyone else want to speak on that?

Edit: Also heard these aren't great for colder weather so hopefully you don't drive your car year round... This isn't the 2nd Gen section though so I doubt it

I relocated mine to the bin behind the passenger seat. I used a Miata Battery because it fit in there.

I followed this install pretty close to the same. Some minor tweaks here or there. 3rd Generation RX-7 Battery Relocation

looks great how did u find the miata battery for power ? lots of cca? to do the job!

Rotary Extreme mini battery kit is a good one. Similar to the Revolution kit but at a much better price.
Odyssey PC680 without battery relocation.

I am pretty sure that the battery has 475 cca. It has been doing the job (I did the relocation in 2008 & am still using that same battery). That being said, I think when it's time for a new one I might look around and see if there is a battery that is the same size with some more cca's. But I wouldn't hesitate to buy this one again too.

harnum2009 03-20-11 12:01 PM

in the rotary extreme battery kit the battery only has 280cca is this even enougth ? look and see what you think http://www.rotaryextreme.com/FDminibattery.html

I have a deka battery that only has 270 CCA and it cranked just fine, but I would disconnect my battery if I don't plan to drive it for a few days just to be safe. The model I used was deka etx20l.

harnum2009 03-20-11 07:31 PM

still not really enougth volttage to run much or even hold its charge

TwinCharged RX7 03-20-11 07:38 PM

Check my for sale thread, I've got a PC680 for sale there.

is it nessary to use the fuse box and everything else that he used in this http://www.stanford.edu/~sunid/battery/ , whats your thougths ? or what would you do?

REVIT93RX7 03-21-11 01:35 PM

Battery

Pettit has a battery relocation kit, don't know the CCAs' but I've been using it for about a year so far and no issues. Mine is relocated to the passenger bin.

fuse box was added only if you plan on adding accessories that look for 12V ignition on. Fuse box just makes it safe and easy to plug and play vs hunting and tapping for 12V.

Circuit breaker for safety in case your routed pos cable gets grounded somehow...also makes it easy to cut power vs undoing the neg on the battery.

harnum2009 03-21-11 02:44 PM

ok so i could just use the battery and run a positive cable and a ground from it

DriftDreamzSS 03-21-11 07:12 PM

I use an interstate CYTX-20H-BS battery with my Rotary Extreme V-mount without relocating it. It has 310cca, is a little cheaper than the pc680 and was in stock at my local interstate dealer. Its a must to use a battery tender, install a battery cut off switch or manually disconnect the battery if you plan on not driving the car for several days with a small battery like this. I killed a pc680 in less than a year by frequently letting it sit too long without starting.

Yes...but the posi cable is a bit of a run...i'd put a circuit breaker on it. Ground to chassis
