does a boost controller help with boost creep?

I have a mid pipe right now but its not installed. My car is in storage for the winter an I am planning on putting it on over the winter. My question is that I know with a midpipe a common problem is Boost creep. If I were to get a boost controller would that help. Also I still have the stock vacum lines on my car. I've heard that if you get a boost controller you need to do your vacum lines. Would that be true if you didn't set you boost above 12-13psi? Also I'd like to hear how other peoples cars perform with their midpipe. And if your have a boost controller to control it.

You will definatly need a boost controller. Boost controllers do not stop boost creep. The effectivness of the Wastegate itself is what does this. I don't know how good factory wastegages for 3rd gen's are but if I wasn't sure then I wouldn't try it. It could cost you your engine.

good luck

There are already some very good threads on how to control boost creep:

I just installed my midpipe and added a Greddy profec B with it. I am running 12psi on high boost mode. I am only seeing a slight creep when running at night (much cooler) and only in 4th gear. Nothing over 14psi....With original wastegate..Hope this helps.

I have a friend who has a 40mm Tial wastegate and is still having problems with creep. In fact he blew up his last engine because of it.
He is now getting a pop off valve. I think that is the only safeguard against boost creep.
