do u guys think it was worth buying ur fd?

if you had to go back in time would you still have bought you rx7? do u think it was worth buying with all the problems that folllow it?

http://www.silverbulletrx7.com/buy.html

I have had few problems and have never considered buying my car a mistake.

Brian7 12-11-03 05:23 PM

I think it was definitely worth it, and it hasn't given me anywhere near the problems people said it would, 5 years later.

Then again, the constant gold digging skank that doesn't realize my car is 10 years old, and I'm a broke dick, does get a little old.

ObliqueFD 12-11-03 05:29 PM

Definitely worth it. I will allways love the FD even if it becomes obsolete.

rzograbian 12-11-03 05:30 PM

i have a blown apex seal (join the club) but i still love the car and would do anything or spend any amount of money to keep it

mfigr1 12-11-03 05:40 PM

I have a love hate relationship with my FD. I have been towed more times over the past 2 1/2 years than most people have in a lifetime. Everytime It get's me down I think of all the good times wev'e had together. All I have to do is get back in that driver's seat and realize how it's all worth it.

jdhuegel1 12-11-03 05:44 PM

I bought it BECAUSE of the problems... Didn't everybody? :D

TwinTurbo93 12-11-03 05:46 PM

Hell yea worth it, 8 years of funn very few sad days, I don't regret a penny spent on my FD!

DCrosby 12-11-03 05:48 PM

I was warned, mostly by my miata friend, and I still went ahead, and bought it anyhow, and allthough I've got 4X the amount of money in My FD (With Rerbuild)(After Purchase) I'll also have about 2X the HP... :D He's at 187 with 8 Psi. and I'm going to be pushing 400 @ 14 psi...

He still teases me on how much I've spent, but then I tease him for buing a clown car :D

Going on 6 years.
This is by far the BEST toy I've ever had.

It's also the longest relationship I've ever had :D

911GT2 12-11-03 09:51 PM

Wouldn't change it for the world. Any moment of discontent I ever have with the car is solved simply by driving it. I just can't help but smile when behind the wheel.

ranmaman81 12-11-03 10:10 PM

i may not be the best example since ive only had mine a month but i paid 10k for a 93 r1 with 85k miles and it got its share of problems(probably gonna end up costing around 2 grand to get everything running right) but i dont care how much it costs it will be worth it once i get it all worked out.

bajaman 12-11-03 10:15 PM

I've had mine for over 3 years and haven't spent hardly ANY money on it. It needs a new exhaust, so far that has been the only problem (since I was able to fix my leaking 'O' ring with block sealer).

Is it worth it?

Is pussy good? :)

Seriously, these cars evoke an incredible feeling. I can be is a pissy ass mood and all I have to do is go LOOK at my car, let alone take it for a spin to be happy as a clam, and to feel very privileged to own one.

Larz 12-11-03 10:25 PM

Necks break to look at my FD. It's worth it. Some people think it's a porsche and that I have lots of cash. I wish the military paid that well.

Fritz Flynn 12-11-03 10:40 PM

Ive owned some, sold some, wrecked one, parted some, still own 2, and plan on keeping one always :)

These cars have given me more pleasure than I could put into words so I won't even try.

I regret buying my fd about as much as I regret drawing air into my lungs.

Preach on brother!! I honestly dont know how to explain the feeling of driving one, you just kinda have to be there and witness it in person to describe the feeling.I truely am lucky to own such a car.

mecman 12-12-03 04:09 PM

3 years and going strong

I have had mine for 3 years. I knew what I was getting into. So far 68K on the original engine. Did all the reliability mods when I bought her stock. So far no problems. I plan on adding a PFS intercooler and replace all the vaccuum lines this winter.

I don't regret it. I don't think I could have had this much fun on what I have spent so far.

alberto_mg 12-12-03 04:24 PM

I've lusted for one since the day I test drove one in 93 like a 16 year old boy lusts for pussy.

I Finally got one this year and I wish I had just bought it in 93 and not had to suffer the other mediocre cars I owned in those ten years - 88 RX7 GTU, 88 TII/vert conversion, 95 BMW 325is...

Had I bought it in 93, I would have saved so much money from depreciation, repairing, upgrading and modding those other cars that I never planned on keeping anyway. Sometimes the sensible choice is proven wrong over time.

You know what I still lust for pussy like I did when I was 16, but now I have both :D
