do most engine builders port the exhaust ports?

Just curious: those of you who have had your engine professionally built and ported, was exhaust porting included in a basic streetport package?

Yes it should be, we clean up the ports (mild street port to some) regardless since we are in there.

Ok, how often do you actually enlarge them? I'm just wondering because there are many ways to do a basic street port.

Any time i do a street port it includes the exhuast as well. Your going to see the most gain from exhaust porting with a turbo engine setup. I always enlarge the exhaust ports. With a turbo engine it is a easy to increase the amount of air , as you know i am sure when you increase the air fuel volume you need to get it out , so increasing the exhaust port is critical.

??? I will mildly port the exhausts regardless, all engines I build come that way. I would assume Glen is saying anytime he street ports he enlarges them as well. It makes no sense to street port the intakes and not improve the flow going out to take advantage of the improved flow going in.

We always port the exhaust when porting an engine. It is just part of the process. Would never consider not enlarging the exhaust when porting an engine.

They will do whatever you ask. Most will advise to do both. Generally, "porting an engine" refers to both, and both are included in the price. Always best to ask the builder to make sure of what you are getting.
