Disconnectng Wastegate control and Turbo Precontrol
I will be installing 2 manual boost controllers which will take over the job performed by the Wastegate control and Turbo Precontrol solenoids ( I and J )
if i disconnect them ( electric connectors ) will they trigger a cel? and if so what resistors would make the ECU calm down .( should i take their resistance and try to match it? ) I am confused about something as well . if i am to "vent" the exit of the boost controllers to the vacuum system ( the mini vacuum rail on top where they aforementioned solenoids dump ) would it pressurize the vacuum system that controls the OMP injectors under boost... .. does the factory coost control "system" do that as well? ..i know that the whole system gets dumped back into the primary turbo chargers constant vacuum nipple ... any input would be appreciated:icon_tup: |
Just cap the actuators instead of running them into the metal hard lines.
I took a short length of hose and connected the empty hard lines directly to each other. Caps would work too. Running with the solenoids unplugged will post a code, but I don't remember the CEL coming on. However you can leave them plugged in if it does or install a resistor. Dave |
yeah i was considering that 2 , capping ... guess it`s the easiest thing to do
but disconnecting the solenoids would not trigger a limp mode or anything? i just want to clean up some things on top of the engine thx |
are you raising the boost on the stock ECU?
|
no not on stock ... preparing for pettit Unlimited or PFC
|
the PFC does a good job of controlling boost if you have a ported wastegate
|
i do but i also have 2 MBS waiting to be put to work and i rather have it like that for some reason :)

Are u removing the wastegate an doing a free float turbo. i was reading u can do this with a boostcontroller. But how? i have a t3 t4 flange t4 turbo im trying to get a wastegated maifold for but if this is possible i could snap it on tomorrow. Is it
|
no i am not removing the waste gate , im just switching boost control from ECU to manual
and im sorry i cant answer your question about free float turbo , im not to knowledgeable on turbo`s .. i know they boost :) |
wastegate yae/nae

350 MAX .. the twins are good enough for that and a bit more ...
well im not sure of your setup , mods ,and turbine specs so i can .. advise you on waste gate choices .. |
