Dipstick shoots out during boost and sucks back in under vacuum
So when my car was being dynoed a friend of mine noticed that my oil dipstick was shooting out when i got to full boost. (15psi on a 35r) Steve Kan said to get rid of the factory pcv system to fix this. Has anyone else had this problem? What did you do to fix it? Thanks!

Cap off the PCV where it hooks to the UIM(Front of UIM just to the left of the Throttle body, it is the large Vacuum line). Cap it off on the manifold side and where it comes off the Oil Filler neck you have a couple different options.
1. Get oil catch can 2. Run line from the nipple on Oil Filler Neck to intake right before turbo 3. Temporarily take a long piece of Vacuum line and run it from the nipple on the oil filler neck down the side of the block and aim it towards the ground. This is a temp fix. Before doing any of that remove our oil filler cap and drive the car with it off, that will let you know if it is a bad PCV or oil control issue. David |
i had the same problem, i thought it was my pcv system too. after checking everything, i ended up buying a new dipstick from mazda and that solved the problem.
