Diffrence between two identical solinoids

Does anybody know what the diffrence between the two different types of solinoids are that live in the rats nest. Of the seven 3 are k5t49093 and 4 are k5t4995. The look identical, seem to work the same but must be diffrent in some way.

I know, I know, I know

The parts numbers are different.

I think the voltages the operate at are different, but I could be wrong.

Had to replace one

Yeah its just that I had to replace one of them and accidently dropped a few of them and now they are mixed up. Not sure which one goes where. Any thoughts?

No, the operating voltage are all 12V.
One type is 2 way (or single path) solenoid valve, the other is a 3 way (dual path). They are NOT interchangeable.

There should also be little colored stickers on top of them. The FSM has the order of them If you have the colors it will be much easier.( as you just match the color on the solenoid to the color of connectors) Other wise you have to find out which are the 2-way, and which are the 3-way and do it that way. PM me if you have the colors....FWIW: The factory service manual lists the solenoids in order and style( ones with the filters are the 2-ways i believe) The diagram is on pg F-148...Also on pg F-176 they are listed and labled with the names and pictures of the solenoids.

Solenoids

The only difference between the two solenoids is one type has a grey paint mark on it the other does not.
On the top of the tank containing the seven solenoids are the coloured stickers your talking about.
FPR =orange sticker,
the port air bypass = blue sticker
releif 2 valve has a green sticker,
the charge control has a yellow sticker,
the charge releif has a yellow sticker,
turbo control has a brown sticker
Double throttle = green sticker

None of the solenoids apear to have filters on them, they all appear to have the same operation ie when on you can blow between two of the ports & when off its between the other two.

My Rx7 is a 96
What is the difference between two way and three way?

Are you talking about the 2 that mount on the front of the UIM?

pstacey 03-06-04 06:50 AM

solenoids

I dont know what uim stands 4 Im guessing u mean the turbo precontroller and wastgate solenoid. No im not talking about those two Im talking about the solenoids mounted directly under the intake manifold.
