Differences in FPD's

2 Attachment(s)
I have owned 2 FD's uptill now and taken apart 2 engines. Both are from a Euro spec car by origin (no import)

Both are 93' cars but the fuel pulsation dampers are different. one has an extra nipple, the other hasn't.

Anybody got more info about that?

First off, that's the fuel pressure regulator, not the pulsation dampener. The FPR uses a vacuum/boost reference to keep fuel pressure a set amount above the manifold pressure.

I'm not sure why it would have 2 nipples, unless it's another diaphragm for different control or some emissions regulation. US cars have never had a FPR like that.

That's what I found to be werid as both cars are from thesame year, same spec.

I guess the one with the extra nipple needs another extra connection somewhere else or would this just go to the UIM?

Most likely I will replace it with soemthing aftermarket but it is interesting nevertheless
