diff bushes
 

Well I need new diff bushes as the ones I have now are leaking fluid which can't be good. So the question is, do I get the standard Mazda ones again or get a custom set made up? anyone got any opinions or experiences with what I should do?

your diff bushings are leaking? what symptoms beyond that do you have? I replaced mine with stockers and they work fine its the other parts of the suspension that needs some stiffer bushings. To get to them you have to pull the axles and drop the diff. real PITA!!

Mazda Motorsports has solid bushings that are cheaper than the stockers, if I remember correctly. They're a little stronger, but they're not urethane, so they aren't too harsh either. I installed them on mine once I broke both the fluid-fill ones and have been happy with them so far.

You have to race your car (autocrossing counts) twice a year to qualify for them though.

You don't have to pull the axles. Once the fuel filter & charcoal canister are out of the way unbolt the drive shaft, the 2 Diff mounting bolts & PPF then rotate the diff down so the nose is pointing the floor. Take an impact gun to the 4 bolts to get the diff mount off the diff...

Nicely done! I just happen to have my PPF, driveshaft, transmission, exhaust all off the car right now for some transmission work. I guess the only parts I need to take off are the cross brackets, fuel filter, canister, and the diff mounts themselves.

Maybe I'll do the diff mounts now rather than later after I put all that mess back in :)

pettit has new bush. that is harder than the stock and softer than the solid and will not transmit vibration and noise to the chassis. just got them a few months ago and thy work great.
