diff between brembo rotors at rx7store.net and gothamracing.com?

(I apologize for the double posting, I posted in the suspension/brakes/whatever forum first but haven't gotten any replies. Due to the time-sensitive nature of this I am hoping to get an answer from the more populated section)

The gothamracing.com brembo (rear) rotors are about $40 extra, they claim to be zinc coated while rx7store.net does not (which doesn't mean they aren't zinc coated). Anybody know what accounts for the difference in price? I ordered from gotham but could probably cancel the order if there is no difference. Thanks.

Not for certain, but I do not think there is a difference. Gotham is usually a little bit higher on items than rx7store seems to be. I don't know if shipping prices account for the difference (ie, gotham charges less rx7store more) or not as I have not compared that aspect of both. You can't go wrong with either store they are both great places. Shipping may be a tad faster through Gotham but again can't go wrong with either they are both great vendors, will just be more of a preference. Send Jason a pm or email if you want to know the specifics on his brake set as far as zinc coating and all.

Brembo OEM rotors are Brembo OEM rotors. Zinc coating would account for the difference in price. The coating just prevents the areas that are not touched by the pads (where the coating is scraped off the first couple times you touch the brakes) from rusting.

Interesting note: The place I had been buying my Brembo blanks from has told me they were being discontinued. Dunno if that was accurate or perhaps their distributor was dropping them.

FWIW - According to Jason at rx7store.net, their rotors do have the zinc coating on them.

rx7store.net is per rotor, gotham is per axle, so gotham is actually cheaper:) Though in the end they are not in stock and gotham is looking for a new supplier, so the question was moot anyway...

Not Brembo Rotors

FYI, Brembo doesn't make stock size rear rotors for the FD.

Yeah, I saw that. What are they selling at rx7store.net then? They don't have the disclaimer about them not being brembo's...

Dunno. I do have those same rotors on the rear of my car, they work fine.
