Did the later model FD's have a different strut bar under the hood?
I'd like to get an OEM front strut bar, but:
1. I'm not sure where to get one (preferably new, if possible) 2. I'm not sure if there were different types made over the years. Any info is much appreciated. -Ian |
A brand new one will run you well over $700. Mazdatrix.com carries them.
You can usually find them on ebay from time to time for around $150-200 I got mine from ebay and it was in perfect condition for $180 shipped. Just keep an eye out, it's not worth the $700 for a new one IMO. |
When did Mazda go from the adjustable one to the fixed one?

Some later year strut bars were black instead of red also. IMO, you're better off spending the money on a quality unit like the greddy or Cusco bar.

Joe I bought a black 96 OEM bar, used, for about $100. I wanted OEM, but didn't like the looks of the red bar. The best strut bar for each person, is the one you like the looks of, and can afford ;). |

Anyone else notice that the black OEM bar does not have the RX-7 emblem on it?

I never noticed but I just looked it up in the 99 brochure and sure enough, no emblem.
