Defroster Switch as a normal toggle switch?

Can a second defroster switch be used as a regualr toggle switch? If so, what pins do you connect to?

I used a fogger as a regular toggle...do a continuity check to see which wires make contact when switched.

defost could work as well

A switch is a switch, dude. There should be two wires that connect to it. Hook up to 'em, and you're in business. According to the wiring diagram available at www.iluvmyrx7.com , you're looking for the black and purple wires.

Well, I hooked up a continuity tester to the switch, and in fact it is NOT a normal switch. It does NOT toggle on and off. It is a momentary switch, in that it only completes the circuit while depressed. When the spring clicks it back up, the circuit is broken. There must be a relay that it controls to operate the defroster. I was able however to modify the switch to work exactly like the fog light switch. When you press it, it stays down and stays on, then you press the other side of it to make it go off. My guess is that the fog light switch is the exact same switch, just modified the same way that I did it.
