Defi DIN mounted Gauges

Anyone try the Defi DIN mounted gauge package? Pix? If you did did you put the radio underneath?

I have 3 VDO gauges in a din mount. I like it a lot. It looks like OEM. I put the my single unit stereo above the gauges. PM me with your e-mail address if you want a pic.

The reason why I didn't go with that setup---you have to take your eyes completely off of the road to see the gauges. Adam, you don't find that to be distracting

I ended up going the center-speaker route. See link in sig for pics :)

Rich,

Unlike a lot of people, I don't feel the need to be constantly looking at my boost gauge. I look at it about once a month, just to see that my boost is where it was the last time I looked :).

If you would like to post a pic of my gauges, I can e-mail it. I'm too retarded to figure out how to post pics :D

you can either upload the pics (I think the current limit is around 150kb) or if they are already on the web, use this format when posting:

True, but IMO, it'd be nice to have all your aftermarket gauges in one quick glance/location: boost, water temp. and any additional gauges while eyes on road still even if you don't check the boost, at least you can read the other parameters. But what matters most is if it works for you and comfortable. :D

Just for kicks...be great to see someone with one on the center speaker, A-pillar, mickey-mouse ears, and DIN placement. I think I seen such a scenario before...

JHew84 06-15-06 02:32 AM

that would be fairly rediculous :tonque:... you would have so many gauges you'd have to start doubling up on them, and using silly ones, like an analog clock, then maybe a digital clock too haha...

i like richs setup, thats exactly what i'm going to have only i'm going with the BF red gauges, i dont mind not having the boost gauge read psi that much...

adam c 06-15-06 04:24 PM

Here it is. Someone showed me how to do it, but I'm still retarded :D

Thanks Adam, I think it look great, much cleaner than other solutions I have seen.

My goal was to keep the stock look. I don't want my car to look like it has gauges in places they don't belong.

As far as looking at them goes, it really isn't much different than looking at any other gauge on the dash. Looking at the gauges takes less time than looking at, and using, any control knob/button on the car. That includes the stereo heater/ac controls etc.......... It certainly isn't unsafe to take the time to operate those controls, so it isn't unsafe to glance down at gauges in a din mount.
