Defi boost gauge doesn't read boost
 

I just installed my defi BF boost gauge tonight according to most of the write ups (connected the line to the intake manifold nipple) and everything went well until I went to drive it. It read vacuum fine, I took it through all the gears but never went past the 0. I checked most of the boost lines and it seems like everything is intact. Is there a hard to find connection somewhere that usually comes loose that would result in boost leak? Or anything else? Your help is much appreciated!

double throttle is prolly closed still (not warm enough), mine won't make more than 0-1psi till it opens

i hook mine up to the UIM should be fine. Mine worked right away.

If its part of the D-link system it does. Or at least mine wouldnt work without the control unit.

Yah, I have BF setup. The BF requires the control unit II. It's the central unit that basically powers up everything in one grounding. However, w/o it...the gauge wouldn't even power up but he' said he's getting vacuum readings only so I presume he has the control unit II.

The gauges come with a user manual that troubleshoots if the gauges flicker (don't operate either) after the "opening ceremony" indicating incorrect installation...but if he's getting vacuum readings maybe it's not the gauge itself and rather a boost leak otherwise? I guess we need more info...how did you setup...lhow does the car itself feel when you try to apply light boost...does the gauge indicate no boost but car feels like it does?

There are some vacuum nipples on the engine that see only vacuum but never go into boost.

Run your boost gauge line to the nipple on the UIM, on the passenger side, facing the strut tower. At the very top. There's 2 nipples there, and the rear one is unused. Hook your line to the rear nipple and then you will have no doubt.

Also be sure your line is free of kinks, as those shitty nylon lines like to kink when you bring them through the firewall, resulting in slow/no reading.

Beyond that, the issue lies with the gauge, which is unlikely.

It's the BF series, there is no vacuum line to run through the firewall. It has it's own MAP sensor.

Quickest solution = pick up $15 mechanical boost gauge from auto parts store and hook it up to the UIM nipple and see if it behaves the same.

Yup, that's the correct one for a boost gauge.

FDZero- The car feels like it accels faster at the boost points, but I have never driven another FD to compare the feeling. So to my assumption I believe the car is boosting. This is my first Turb car. Sorta wish it was NA. haha

IMO, it's actually better to use a T-junction and T-into the stock MAP sensor line. That way the boost gauge sees exactly what the ecu is seeing. Right above the stock MAP sensor is also a convenient place to mount the Defi MAP sensor.
