Decompile ECU code?

Hello,
I have a Pettit ECU which I extracted the images off of to see if further modifications and tuning could be done. I am searching for a decompiler but not having much luck. The ECU is using a SC402617FN processor which is made by Motorola and pretty common in other cars as well form my searches. It would be nice to mod the code to run larger injectors so there is an extra cushion when upping the boost. Or possibly fix the idle issue when the emissions components are removed. Has anyone ever attemted anything like this or am i just wasting my time? I know the PFC is the way to go but I figured I would mess around with this a bit. Any info would be great.

There was a talk about this years ago but nothing ever happened. The fact is, the information does exist or chips like Pettit's would not exist. However, those that know, sell chips not the knowledge.

FWIW, Cam contemplated selling chips for enlarged injectors. I don't think he thought there was a market for it since the PFC is a lot more affordable now than it was 5-6 years ago so he never sold them. A local friend was suppose to test it a few years ago, but it just never happened.

Take a look at IDA Pro.

I believe most of the tuned chips in ECU's are done with the Techtom software/interface. They're a big Japanese deal, they have tuning software, daughterboards, all that jazz. Might want to do some Googling on that.

ROM tuning is VERY popular in Japan. Take your car to a shop, they put mods on it, put in a special board in your ECU with an EPROM, then the shop dyno tunes the car. Once it's tuned, they burn the program to a ROM, pop it in your ECU, and off you go.

WOW, Techtom is $1100.00 PFC it is if I cant figure this out a different way.

No hobbyist in the US has ever cracked the stock ECU. If you want to try and blaze a trail, more power to you, but the PFC is a HECK of a lot easier :).

I'm going to dig this up... Dale, you're mistaken. Besides that, the POS, I mean PFC, is probably the worst ECU and wouldn't even compare to the stock ECU.

I'm pressing forward disassembling the firmware. Most of the work has already been done by others but the real work (making it flashable) needs to be completed.

Need some hardware engineers to really finish the job though.

I can't believe how much easier my Fords are to tune... why did i ever get into imports??

Ohh ya, cause the rotary engine is AWESOME!!
