Sato Tatsuya 12-12-09 12:02 AM

oh my goodness!! those are some NICE shots!!!! and what an amazing car!!! Sad to see it go like this...I hope the next owner will take good care of it!!! Also, are both headlights functional, particularly the right headlight witht he FEED intake? Someone told me once that it doesn't work anymore once you install it, but I was under the impression that it still works...

Just heard this car was totaled:

All the carbonfibre splitters were cracked and split, chassis bent so badly that the bottom of the rear strut brace was ripped out, when you looked at the rear of the car, one side of the car was sitting about 3-4inches higher and the rear pillar had a bit bend in it. It originally didn't look so bad till you started really looking at the damage.

No pics because I felt really sorry for the owner, it was his first time on the track with the car.

Thread I pulled that from is irrelevant. It's just an FD thread on Supraforums, and someone mentioned DCUPS car, prompting that response. A story is more likely to be found on an OZ forum.

rx7rcer09 01-24-10 11:14 PM

its truly sad.

bewtew 01-25-10 12:18 AM

What a Rookie and what a waste of a SHOW CAR.

GoodfellaFD3S 01-25-10 12:23 AM

Damn. Don't track it (or Dragon-it) unless you're prepared to lose it.

bewtew 01-25-10 12:29 AM

it's sad to see a beautiful car ruined.

K-Tune 01-25-10 01:48 AM

except for the wheels and tires that WAS a really nice FD.

rxsevengt 01-25-10 10:24 AM

You can't bag the owner for binning it, if it is true,at least he knew what he bought and was trying to learn how to drive it properly. FD aren't show ponies and I'm sure most will agree it only takes a small mistake in one to have a massive accident. At least he's alright and he didn't kill someone on the street. I say props to him for trying to learn in a controlled environment instead of choosing to wipe out someone's family on the street

Well said. Very unfortunate, but if you track your car, it's not a question of "if" it's a question of "when" you are going to go off course. Most of the time there is no or minor damage... sometimes you aren't so fortunate. Good for him for doing it in a controlled environment and I hope he doesn't let this deter him from future track events. I feel sorry for the people who have great pieces machinery that never truly enjoy them. Sure it's cool to have some one drooling all over your car, but that's not what does it for me.

Smokey The Talon 01-25-10 12:13 PM

I'd be interested to hear more follow up on the car. The Supraforms post says it was his first track day, but if you follow the link that was posted above people state that the car was tracked multiple times by the new owner and had pictures of it at a track day and no mention of it being totaled.

Now...it's certainly a possibility that it was wrecked at a track day as that's what the new owner is doing with it, but at least part of the above story is wrong so I'd like to know if the rest is true or not.

smog-guy707 01-25-10 10:41 PM

ahh i tried to locate the thread but was unable to:(

anyone have a link? makes me sad
:/

510_rx7 02-23-10 01:23 AM

did anybody find out how much the car was sold for?

D CUPS 10-11-13 06:05 AM

its been sold again to a 3rd owner, after it got banged up by the previous

SWAT81 10-11-13 08:21 AM

This is why when ever I sold my FD in the past I never looked them up to see what happened to them... it is a damn shame what happened to the car :(
