Dawes Device Install, Help!
I installed the dawes device per diagram "B", from the nipple on the turbo housing, through the dawes valve, to the upper wastegate actuator. Like Rob & Steve's site show for manual boost controlers
I have a new set of turbos so I had no pills in the hose I removed. I drilled out the nipple on the turbo housing (putting heavy grease on drill bit to catch all the metal chips). My question is; What about the other hose that's hooked up to the upper wastegate actuator? Do I disconnect it & plug the hose & nipple? Where does that sucker go & what does it do? With the nipple drilled out & just a longer hose connecting to the upper waste gate actuator I got a 7-5-7 boost pattern. I was surprised the 2nd turbo kicked in! With the dawes device installed & almost completely unscrewed I hit 12-10-12. I thought I could get it lower & build up the boost. Is the spring inside to stiff? Thanks for all that stuck it out & read this whole rambling thread. |
Leave the other line alone it's fine.
the spring in the waste gates should give 7 psi as the lowest boost. |
