Dash problems
I just got my car up and running again with a jdm tranny, after tranny installation i started it up and everything worked just fine, after a bit the dash stopped working such as speedometer, engine temp, and rpms, and i think the gas meter, i checked the fuse it was blown. Put a new fuse it after a 2 min drive it would blow up again, anybody have any ideas why? I dont the the jdm tranny would make a diff.

Odometer doest work as well.

Sounds like an electrical short. That could be a tough one to diagnose.

I'd start looking for a pinched wire in the area of the car you were working in. There are online FSM's and electrical diagrams, look up the diagram and see if the speed sensor, or other items in the trany area could cause that fuse to blow.

That's a really good point. The sensors around the extension housing (rear) of the transmission are really failure prone and can break off. If a wire that feeds power to the sensor breaks off and makes contact with the transmission housing (ground), it will short out.

yeah check the transmission wires...if they are broken and you go ahead and fix them...Make sure to secure down the wiring harness with the maleable C shaped pieces of metal on top of the transmission...well good luck

Thanks guys ill see if i can figure it out.

The speed sensor wire was crunched under teh powerplant frame lol.
