Does anyone know where I could buy a dashpod?Dave over at KDR said I needed one, it's under the hood next to the U.I.M.a small white piece of plastic. The car keeps stalling because it's getting stuck.

They are not plastic. They are small metal pressure canisters to prevent the throttle from shutting suddenly. They are VERY expensive for such a small and somewhat useless part. Also, that wouldn't prevent your car from stalling, so I'm not sure you are referring to the correct part.

The dashpot is mostly metal, but has a white plastic rod or piston that the throttle linkage contacts at about 2,800 rpm. It slows the rate at which the throttle closes. The most common problem with a dashpot is that the rod gets dirty and binds, causing a high idle by preventing the engine from idling down to where it should, or it loses its resistance alltogether and allows the throttle to snap closed when you lift off the pedal. I suppose the rod could also get stuck all the way in, and that would make the throttle snap closed too, causing a stall.

I just got a new one from Ray for my 94 due to intermittent high idle. All is now well.
