CYM project update
It's been a while and nothing has happened. I snapped some shots today, the donor front end is prepped and ready for welding. The car is going on the frame rack this weekend and should be getting welded up next week.
Look at the small flanges that are only held together with spot welds. If you know much about welding it is easy to see that the car will be as strong or stronger than it originally was. Man, lookin' good Jeff! I'd LOVE to have a CYM, but I doubt the wife would go for it - she's not a yellow person :).
Is the front end for the car a new part. or a junkyard part? It's funny how it all actually looks pretty simple when you look at just the unibody, but when you consider the TONS of wiring, brackets, piping, etc. that's bolted to the unibody that you have to pull to do the work, that's the tricky part. A body shop doing this sort of work probably wouldn't get the same result, since they aren't as familiar with how to properly remove and re-install all the systems on an RX-7.
