Custom fender protectors on the cheap
 

been too darn cold out to be in the garage, tools feel like ice, so i did a lil something in the house for my FD. im sure this is been done before...

took an old quilt i had in the garage and folded it in half. cut "L" shapes(pic 1). moved a few pieces around and sewed up all around the borders(pic 2). had my wife show me how to use the sewing machine......well this thing has a foot pedal, she left me alone with this thing for only 5 minutes mind you....WOT FD= fun, WOT sewing machine = new part on order to fix it:( yeah she was pissed. anyway, hand stiched with doubled up apolstry thread and then sewed in 3 straps(pic 3). put hooks, cut up coat hanger, on straps and installed on car(pic 4), fits great...just not enough materal for the front center, shouldnt be hard to come up with something for that though.

cost of tools............................................. ..............................0 dollars.
piece of mind your baby is protected while wrenching....... ...priceless!!

cost of fixing the sewing machine... XXX dollars ;)

Nice work, thats definatly a good idea for any car.

Looks great... Just keep in mind, although it will protect against scratches.... It wont protect against elbow dents so use caution... Remember the FD dents easy with the light weight paper thin sheet metal. :(
