curious about 96-02 JDM Rx7's - Did they fix any of the issues?
 

I know the FD left the U.S. in 1995, but as I understand it it was still in production in Japan until around 2002.

Did the later models in Japan fix any of the issues the U.S. model had, such as better cooling, knock sensor, better hoses etc....?

Has anyone ever imported a later model JDM over to the U.S.?

Yes, people do import them from time to time.

Like who? AFAIK, no one, at least no one here has a '96+ FD in the U.S. legally.

Amongst other things, it's cost prohibitive to register a JDM '94 FD; it would be no different with a '96+.
