Cryo Treatment of Apex Seals

I was debating with someone about the strengths and weaknesses of the rotary engine and thought about how the apex seals are typically the thing to go, if not the coolant seals. This is mostly attributed to improper tuning since one good knock usually takes care of them. Cryo treatment is used on all sorts of car parts from engine blocks, to heads to brake rotors. The part to be treated is frozen to many degrees below zero and then brought back. This treatment strengthens and makes more durable the part by making the bond between the molecules stronger and such. Why not try it with apex seals? I can not see any reason why this would not work. Nothing will make the apex seals bulletproof, but this surely would seem to help.

I remember reading a thread on this a long time ago. I can't remember much about what was said, but the general consensus was that it wouldn't work as well as one might think it would. I'll see if I can find the thread.

If you want strong seals get ceramic seals... Pretty much anyone who rebuild rotaries can install them for y ou.. But at a pretty penny ofcourse.. the run anywhere from 1300-2000... good luck
