Crank Angle Timing

Hey guys,

I'm in the process of reinstalling my engine and I just have a quick question about the crank angle plate. It seems like common sense but I just want to make sure that I'm not doing anything wrong. I noticed there were a few threads on 1st gens and 2nd gens but couldn't find anything on 3rd gens https://cimg0.ibsrv.net/gimg/www.rx7...13a72c9e5e.jpg

1st pic it's miss aligned
2nd pic it is rotated which made it align
It can only line up in one position right? Is there anything I need to know? I read somewhere about finding Top dead center and it got me worried about this. Stupid question but better safe than sorry.

Stock fd trigger wheel only lines up 1 way. Second pic is correct. That wheel looks a little bent up so I would lay it o a flat surface and make sure it isn't bent. Always verify timing with a timing gun.

I will check to see if it is bent, thank you for the quick response.
