Cracked PPF or Bad LSD? (FD3S)

1993 Rx7 Touring Edition

Everytime i drive hard and shift, I hear this *bump* sound from the rear. (I have light flywheel with act 6puck clutch if that matters)

Is my PPF cracked or its the LSD? or I just need to engage lightly due to my clutch?

mounts?
PPF....

I dont think its your DIFF at all (maybe the mounts) but if you break the diff you will know)

I also think if it was either of those you would find out pretty quick, the transmission wouldnt have much support and would cause the engine to be tilted back against the firewall.

Much more common for the PPF to crack & break.

Remember, the series-6 hit the USA back in 92, so they are at least 12 years old by now so are quite fatigued.........

The PPF doesn't suffer non-elastic bending - only elastic. Either it breaks from excessive force or slop, or it doesn't - metal fatigue shouldn't be an issue (but I supposed it could be with enough mounting slop due to bad bushings, etc.).

efinirx7, get under the car and check.

Let me know when you figure out this problem... as I have the same problem. My money says that it is the diff. bushings. What a pain they are to change out -- on the Ford's IRS Trac-Lok diff's it takes all of 15 mins to change them.
